Alone Live

Come Wee Laddie

Come wee laddie let me hold you a while.
Turn your face so I can see you smile
Since the distance leaving turmoil in my mind
I'm with you in the shadows of your life.

Golden moments but the tides have turned again.
But I'm your daddy and I can make amends.
I'll try to reach you from the corner of my dreams
It is never really what it seems.

Yet all that I do
I share my dreams with you
And all the feelings too
You're all that I feel so bonded so real
Yet you're taken away
But all that we share is with us everywhere
Yet all those dreams and moments seem might vanish in the air.

So come wee laddie let me hold you a while
Turn your face so I can see you smile again
Since the distance leaving turmoil in my mind
I'm with you in the shadows of your life.

Yet all that I do I share my dreams with you
And all the loving too.
There's nothing I can say I'm loving you all the way
I'm with you every day.
Yet all that I feel so bonded so real yet your taken away
But all that we share is with us everywhere
Yet all those dreams and moments seem might vanish in the air.

So come wee laddie let me hold you a while
Turn your face so I can see you smile again
Since the distance leaving turmoil in my mind
I'm with you in the shadows of your life.

I'd just got home after seeing my son. It had been a painful goodbye. Sat in the darkened room, I still could feel him around playing with his toys. It was at this moment that the realisation of what love and bonding is with a child ensued. I sat, reflected and wrote this song.
